Gentle Stretches and Cardio Exercise
We do gentle stretches to cardio exercises set to recorded music and instruction in the shallow end of the pool. The exercise session is self-directed, although volunteers demonstrate either on the deck or in the pool on most days. Each session has at least one volunteer monitor, who checks people in and stays for the entire session. Members are required to monitor 2 times per year. We alternate between Routines. Routine A was developed in 2013 and includes more stretching with about 20 minutes of cardio. Routine B is the 2015 routine includes more intense cardio and less stretching. Routine C is our newest developed in 2018. It is recommended that you try to do at least one session of each routine per week since the sessions use different muscle combinations.
Joining as a new member or renewing for 2020-2021?
We are welcoming new members (must be a Sun City West Recreation Card holder) and renewals for those members who did not get a chance to renew before the COVID-19 shutdown. Please click on this line for a membership form that you can print and fill out or fill out on your computer and then print out and mail with your payment.
New 2021 membership will be accepted starting October 1, 2020 (3 months 2020 membership plus full 2021 membership) for $10. Paid 2020 members will automatically be renewed for 2021 for no fee, no application form required. You must monitor 2 times in the 2021 season to be able to renew for 2022.
Membership is open to anyone with a valid Sun City West Rec Card. Sun City West Rec Card holders may be a guest 5 times before requiring to join.
Each member is required to monitor 2 times per year, even if you are only a partial-year resident. Monitoring involves checking people in as they show up for class. Please sign up to monitor on the calendar on the table as you come in for class. Please take a reminder sheet with you when you sign up to monitor.
